JSOU Delegation Attended the 28th World Congress of International Council for Distance Education in Ireland


The 28th World Congress of (ICDE) International Council for Distance Education was held in Dublin, Ireland, from November 3 to 7, 2019. More than 1,200 experts and scholars from 95 countries in five continents were present at the meeting, including many well-known experts and scholars in the field of open distance education. After submitting papers to the Organizing Committee and internal review by JSOU, four teachers, Zhang Zhihui, Liu Weiyan, Xu Ling and Zhu Yanfei, were invited to attend.

The Congress is divided into seven thematic forums on changes in online teaching methods, reconceptualizing online education for a better future, expanding access, openness and flexibility, innovative learning design for students, new and open approaches to lifelong learning, changing  business model of the times and global challenges and global solutions. At the meeting, three teachers, Liu Weiyan, Xu Ling and Zhu Yanfei, delivered speeches on the topics of Research on Distance Open Education Based on Mobile Learning-Taking the Course of Electrical and Electronic Technology of Jiangsu Open University as an Example , Research on the Influencing Factors of Extensive Sharing Behavior of Open Education Resources, “Research on Quality Assurance of Open University Based on Student Satisfaction”.

During the meeting, our representatives actively participated in all kinds of academic exchange activities, listened to the conference report, fully grasping the opportunity of zero distance communication with academic experts in distance education, showing the academic image of our teachers, and further enhancing the international popularity of JSOU.
